The Road Ahead: What to Expect from Acura in 2019

As a leader in innovation, technology, and performance, we expect big things from Acura in 2019. From impressive innovations in fuel efficiency and engine dynamics to wider technology offerings and successful motorsports endeavors, Acura is already poised to outdo itself in 2019. Here are a few of the biggest changes and events coming to the automaker with three models that received Consumer Guide® Automotive Best Buy Awards for 2019.*

Lineup Changes

The all-new 2019 Acura ILX boasts a bold, fresh design that reflects the new design direction of the entire Acura lineup. With the now-standard AcuraWatch™ safety suite, you can drive with more confidence than ever before. The new tech doesn’t stop there. An enhanced, lightning-fast dual-screen user interface allows you to control new connectivity features like Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Thankfully, these new features didn’t add a larger price tag, with the ILX coming in at $2,200 less than the previous model, at $25,900.**

Acura also added new color options and a more refined interior for the 2019 MDX. If you need the functionality of an SUV but crave-top-of-the-line luxury, the new A-Spec trim will add sporty styling and features to an already luxurious platform. More options in suspension, wheels, and tires give the MDX more flexibility and performance. Underneath, the 9-speed automatic transmission has also been upgraded, for a more enjoyable driving experience.

Chassis upgrades on the 2019 Acura NSX improve handling on the brand’s infamous supercar. The front end also gets a small design change. New interior and exterior options, including the striking Thermal Orange Pearl paint enhance the artful design of this incredible machine. Gripper tires complement the software updates to the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® power unit, suspension, and power steering, all of which translate into faster lap times.

Technology for the Future

Leading the charge to innovative new infotainment, Acura’s True Touchpad Interface™ is a 10.2-inch full-HD display mounted on the dash of the 2019 RDX. The center console-mounted touchpad is perfectly mapped to work with the display for ultimate control over the interface. Natural voice recognition, handwriting recognition, and a two-zone touchpad give you a number of options for complete control so that you never have to take your eyes off the road.

Acura’s ELS Studio 3D™ premium audio system—available in the 2019 RDX—was tuned by 25-time Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Elliot Scheiner to create an audio experience worthy of a concert hall. The 16-speaker, 710- watt system utilizes four Highline™ ceiling-mounted speakers to provide an immaculate listening experience unlike any other.

Race to the Podium

Revamped to take on tracks all over the globe in 2019, the NSX GT3 Evo is the next generation of motorsport excellence for the automaker. Revisions to the exterior promise better aerodynamic performance and new turbochargers will improve performance across a variety of aspects, including throttle response and boost control. These subtle improvements should translate into vast improvements on the track. Keep an eye out for the NSX GT3 Evo during the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2019.

…And This Is Just The Beginning

Acura is kicking off the new year with a bang, and this is just the beginning. With intentions to expand fuel-efficiency, hybrid technology, and more, we couldn’t be part of the Acura family during a more exciting time in the brand’s history.
